Overview
This role involves joining a venture-backed startup focused on creating digital legal products that help consumers craft efficient and cost-effective agreements. The initial product is a digital, lawyer-reviewed prenuptial agreement platform.
The organization is seeking experienced family law attorneys to work on a contract basis for up to 10 hours per week. Attorneys will serve as counsel by reviewing prenuptial agreements generated on the platform.
Responsibilities
- Review prenuptial agreements submitted through the digital platform
- Identify and flag important clauses, providing comments to clients
- Review and respond to comments from opposing counsel
- Ensure clients understand the terms of their prenuptial agreements and answer any related questions
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a family law attorney
- Deep understanding of and experience with prenuptial agreements
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Illinois
- Must carry Professional Liability Insurance
- Strong communication skills with responsiveness and clarity
- Customer-centric approach
- Commitment to making high-quality legal agreements more accessible
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to represent clients in multiple languages
