Overview

An organization focused on addressing the critical shortage of nurses in the United States is seeking an experienced Immigration Lawyer to join their team as in-house counsel. This role involves providing expert immigration guidance to international healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, helping them navigate complex immigration pathways such as EB-3 Green Cards and other visa processes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as in-house immigration counsel specializing in employment-based Green Cards (EB-3), asylum applications, Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and related immigration processes.
  • Provide direct, compassionate, and authoritative immigration guidance to international nurses, helping them feel informed and supported throughout their immigration journey.
  • Reduce candidate churn by ensuring nurses feel secure and confident during their immigration process.
  • File and oversee all relevant legal documents, including PERM labor certifications, prevailing wage determinations, and I-140 petitions.
  • Act as an internal expert on U.S. immigration law, staying current on policy changes and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with a fully remote team, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Head of Operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed immigration lawyer in the U.S.
  • Proven track record of successfully filing EB-3 Green Cards and handling asylum, TPS, and other employment-based visa cases.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and provide clear, compassionate guidance to vulnerable candidates.
  • Self-starter with sales instincts, demonstrated by experience running a firm, being a partner, or having a sales background.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Alignment with the mission of helping people.
  • Ability to work within North American time zones (EST to PST).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working remotely with small, high-output teams.
  • Naturally curious and proactive in seeking improved processes.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, Airtable, or Notion.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $100,000 to $140,000 USD annually.
  • Remote position based in the U.S., with preferred working hours within EST to PST time zones.
