Overview
This role seeks an Information Security Counsel/Contracts Manager who can navigate both the technical aspects of cybersecurity and the complexities of legal compliance. The position is part of a fast-paced Commercial Legal Team and involves collaborating throughout the deal cycle to translate technical security postures into contractual agreements while ensuring customer requirements are scalable and thoroughly vetted.
This opportunity is open to licensed attorneys as well as experienced contracts managers, with a focus on demonstrated knowledge and skills rather than formal titles.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate complex technology agreements with major enterprise customers, leading discussions on security terms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Information Security, Product Engineering, and Product Legal teams to align commercial objectives with technical realities.
- Provide frontline legal guidance on security and contractual risks for standard matters, and partner with senior counsel on complex regulatory and novel issues.
- Develop a deep understanding of the organization's platform to effectively represent its security posture in customer negotiations and internal product discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; J.D. or equivalent legal training preferred.
- 4–7 years of in-house experience in contract management or as legal counsel, or equivalent law firm experience in technology transactions.
- Experience negotiating technical aspects of enterprise software and cloud licensing agreements.
- Proficiency in data security issues relevant to technology companies and familiarity with industry compliance standards such as NIST and ISO.
- Exposure to European regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, EU AI Act, EBA guidelines) is a plus.
- Strong business judgment combined with technical literacy.
- Proven ability to conduct live, customer-facing negotiations with a solution-oriented and professional approach.
- Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits
- U.S. base salary range: $160,000 to $266,600 USD.
- For U.S. locations in San Francisco Bay Area, DC Metro, New York City, and Seattle: $177,800 to $266,600 USD.
- For other U.S. offices or remote positions: $160,000 to $240,000 USD.
- Eligible for bonus potential, equity, and benefits.
- Salary offers depend on work location, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
