Overview
This role is for an insurance defense attorney on the Bodily Injury litigation team, supporting motor vehicle insurance defense litigation. You will provide legal representation to insureds and/or the organization’s insurance entities before courts and arbitration panels across all aspects of litigation.
The position includes handling cases from beginning to end, preparing legal documents, and contributing to resolution efforts through settlement negotiations. You will also collaborate with clients and claims partners to prepare timely litigation reports and ensure appropriate defenses are leveraged.
This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to an office for meetings and/or training.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal representation in motor vehicle insurance defense litigation before courts and arbitration panels
- Handle matters from beginning to end
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs
- Participate in negotiating settlements
- Work with clients and claims partners to prepare timely litigation reports
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, and medical records
- Assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure
Minimum Qualifications
- Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) and a minimum of 2 years general/auto litigation experience
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Maryland

- $147,056 - $181,300/year
