Overview
An experienced intellectual property attorney is sought for a short-term, part-time remote contract engagement with a sophisticated boutique law firm client. The role focuses primarily on trademark counseling and prosecution, including advising clients on the development, protection, and management of trademark portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Provide trademark counseling and prosecution services
- Advise clients on trademark portfolio development and management
- Conduct trademark clearance analyses and advise on registration strategies
- Manage trademark matters and associated deadlines independently
- Handle trademark enforcement and TTAB proceedings (preferred)
- Support international trademark portfolio matters (preferred)
- Assist with copyrights and intellectual property agreements (a plus)
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of intellectual property experience with a substantial focus on trademark law
- Significant hands-on experience with U.S. trademark prosecution and USPTO practice
- Experience conducting trademark clearance analysis and advising on registration strategy
- Ability to independently manage trademark matters and deadlines
- Licensed attorney in good standing in the state of residence
- Outstanding professional references
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trademark enforcement and TTAB proceedings
- International trademark portfolio experience
- Copyright and intellectual property transactional experience
- Prior experience working in the IP group of a large or sophisticated boutique law firm

Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay range (full-time equivalent): $180,000 to $200,000
- Pay is based on factors including experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference
- Contract professionals are typically W2 employees eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week
