Overview
An established national law firm is seeking experienced attorneys to join as Partners in its Litigation group, with a focus on International Arbitration. This full-time role offers significant autonomy, flexibility, and long-term growth potential without the constraints typical of traditional large law firms. The position is remote-first, allowing work from anywhere in the U.S. or the U.K., with the requirement to appear in court or before agencies in licensed jurisdictions as needed.
Responsibilities
- Practice at a high level serving sophisticated clients
- Collaborate with peers across the country
- Maintain control over work location and schedule
- Develop and grow a personal book of business
- Appear in court or before agencies in licensed jurisdictions when required
Requirements
- Doctorate-level education (JD or equivalent)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in international arbitration (commercial or investor-state) or related litigation
- Prior experience at AmLaw 200, Legal 500, Magic Circle, GAR 100 / Chambers-ranked firm, respected regional firm, or sophisticated boutique
- Portable book of business of at least $350,000
- Ability to appear in court or before agencies in licensed jurisdictions
Compensation & Benefits
- Performance-based "Eat What You Kill" compensation model:
- 30% of collected fees on matters originated by the Partner
- 50% of collected fees attributable to the Partner’s personal time worked
- Both components apply if the Partner both originates and performs work on a matter
- No cap on earning potential
- Estimated annual compensation range: $150,000 to $2,500,000+, depending on individual performance and practice economics
- Tiered benefits options including group insurance programs, retirement savings options, professional liability coverage, and operational/administrative support
- Benefit eligibility and contributions vary by tier and location and are governed by the partnership agreement
