Overview

This role is for an experienced Investment Funds Attorney to support the evaluation and improvement of AI systems handling real-world investment funds and transactional legal work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual compensation equivalent: $172,800–$249,600/year
  • Hourly rate equivalent: $90–$130/hr
  • Average handling time: approximately 3.5 hours per task

Compensation is tied to completed tasks that meet project specifications and are successfully approved. Actual earnings depend on the number of tasks completed and successfully approved, as well as task availability and completion time.

The annual compensation figure is a full-time equivalent calculated at 40 hours/week across 48 workable weeks/year. It is provided for comparison purposes and is not guaranteed earnings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises involving investment funds and related transactions.
  • Review and assess AI-generated responses to legal and contract scenarios.
  • Evaluate contract language for:
    • legal accuracy
    • risk allocation
    • completeness
    • practical commercial judgment
  • Provide detailed expert feedback to improve AI-generated legal analysis.
  • Create objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for investment funds and transactional legal tasks.
  • Apply professional judgment when assessing drafting, negotiation positions, and proposed revisions.
  • Collaborate with product and research teams to refine legal evaluation data, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Translate complex legal reasoning into clear, actionable feedback for AI systems.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the investment funds department of a corporate law firm.
  • Familiarity with standard investment funds and M&A-related agreements.
  • Hands-on experience with documents including:
    • Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs)
    • Subscription Agreements
    • Side Letters
  • Strong skills in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and redlining.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and legal reasoning capabilities.
  • Ability to translate legal expertise into structured, actionable feedback.
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.
  • Interest in the intersection of law and technology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to AI or legal technology.
  • Experience with legal training or evaluation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted legal workflows.
  • Experience developing legal guidelines, evaluation frameworks, or quality standards.
