Overview

A full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple U.S. locations is seeking a Knowledge Management & Innovation (KMI) Attorney. This role supports the Labor & Employment Practice Service Center (PSC) by driving business transformation and operational efficiency through innovative legal technology solutions and process improvements. The position may be remote or based at any firm location.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary knowledge management and innovation liaison to the Labor & Employment PSC.
  • Lead identification and implementation of technology-driven improvements and process optimizations.
  • Collaborate with knowledge management, IT, and practice teams to evaluate and deploy innovative solutions, including AI tools.
  • Identify, assess, and pilot new and existing legal technology tools tailored to PSC needs.
  • Prototype and demonstrate technology solutions such as AI and document automation platforms.
  • Collect and communicate user feedback to enhance knowledge management solutions.
  • Champion technology adoption and organizational change to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Support pilots, beta tests, and business development initiatives promoting knowledge management and innovation.
  • Develop and deliver training, workshops, and support materials to increase user engagement and adoption.
  • Plan, execute, and track knowledge management and innovation projects aligned with firm goals and ROI.
  • Monitor legal technology trends and participate in relevant industry events.
  • Develop and refine document automation prototypes with integration and user-friendly features.
  • Conduct live demonstrations and share success stories to promote adoption of legal technology tools.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and a 4-year degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a practicing attorney or in knowledge management/innovation within professional services.
  • Proven experience with legal technology, project management, and business planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on cross-functional teams and lead organizational change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive and innovative approach.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation is commensurate with skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. Expected salary ranges by location are:

  • California: $151,000 - $308,000
  • Colorado: $139,000 - $248,000
  • Illinois: $136,000 - $265,000
  • Maryland: $146,000 - $222,000
  • Massachusetts: $151,000 - $289,000
  • Minnesota: $151,000 - $250,000
  • Jersey City, NJ: $164,000 - $297,000
  • New York: $141,000 - $304,000
  • Vermont: $149,000 - $286,000
  • Washington State: $146,000 - $278,000
  • Washington, D.C.: $195,000 - $286,000

Bonus opportunities are discretionary and based on individual and firm performance.
