Overview
A well-established plaintiff-side labor and employment law firm is seeking a seasoned Labor and Employment Attorney to join their remote legal team. The firm focuses on representing clients harmed by discrimination based on age, disability, race, pregnancy, hostile workplace environments, and more. They have a track record of securing six and seven-figure settlements for their clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a broad range of labor and employment issues, including employment contracts, wage and hour laws, workplace safety, discrimination, and harassment claims.
- Represent the organization in labor and employment disputes through mediations, arbitrations, and litigation before federal and state courts and administrative agencies.
- Draft, review, and revise employment policies, procedures, and agreements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on labor and employment law issues, offering proactive legal advice to mitigate risks.
- Negotiate and resolve labor disputes and grievances; provide legal support during collective bargaining negotiations.
- Deliver training and workshops to management and employees on labor and employment law topics.
- Stay informed on developments in labor and employment law and advise management on potential impacts.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in California; proximity to Burbank is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Labor and Employment Attorney with a proven track record handling labor and employment matters.
- Extensive knowledge of federal and state labor and employment laws and regulations.
- Strong negotiation, dispute resolution, and arbitration skills.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical, business-friendly legal advice.
- High ethical standards and professionalism in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency with legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $160,000 - $220,000 per year
