Overview
A leading organization is seeking a Lead Counsel to join their Commercial Legal Team to provide essential legal support to the EMEA Sales Teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-line, client-centric legal support to Sales teams on privacy, commercial, and legal issues.
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work.
- Collaborate with various business teams on legal processes as needed.
- Partner closely with Sales stakeholders, particularly in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), to understand business objectives and challenges, driving strategic improvements.
- Work alongside other legal and compliance groups to support growth with a customer-focused approach.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in Ireland.
- Fluent German speaker.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience.
- Significant experience reviewing commercial contracts and independently managing negotiation processes, preferably with Enterprise SaaS experience in the DACH region.
- Excellent legal drafting skills.
- Strong foundation in data protection and EU privacy law.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with business stakeholders to understand strategic goals and provide informed recommendations; experience supporting Sales teams is a plus.
- Ability to make decisions and clearly explain the rationale to teams.
- Efficient and effective working style in a fast-paced, transparent environment.
- Integration of technology and use/building of AI tools in daily legal practice.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
- Strong relationship-building skills based on trust.
- Excellent communication skills, especially via internal wiki, Slack, and Zoom.
- Self-driven and solution-oriented.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual cash compensation range: €101,000 to €146,425 EUR.
- Compensation includes base salary, on-target commission (if applicable), and annual bonus targets.
- Some roles may be eligible for participation in an equity plan with restricted stock units (RSUs).
