Overview

A leading organization in the Technical Services sector is seeking a Lead Counsel, Privacy to join their team. This role involves supporting high-impact initiatives that directly influence business performance and team success. The position requires collaboration across multiple functions to advance priorities, solve complex challenges, and deliver measurable results. It offers the opportunity to shape both strategic direction and day-to-day execution in a dynamic environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $192,000 – $307,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic legal counsel on global privacy and data protection regulations
  • Monitor emerging laws and market trends to anticipate future regulatory changes
  • Lead compliance efforts related to privacy, security, and AI regulations
  • Collaborate with regulators and external legal counsel on privacy matters
  • Align privacy strategies with legal requirements across key international markets
  • Address complex legal issues with practical, business-focused solutions
  • Support global customers by providing expertise in privacy and cybersecurity

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States
  • Extensive knowledge of global privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA, with relevant advisory experience
  • Familiarity with AI governance and emerging regulations, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area
  • Experience working with regulatory authorities and managing sensitive legal matters
  • Excellent communication skills and strong business judgment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GLBA, DORA, and other regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Experience with cross-functional compliance tools and data protection technologies
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and frameworks
  • Proficiency in legal research and compliance management software
  • Experience using data analytics tools for horizon scanning
  • Competence with contract management systems
