Overview
This role involves managing administrative tasks associated with the legal process of setting judicial hearings. Responsibilities include coordinating with judicial assistants and attorneys, preparing legal documents, and updating internal and client systems. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with judicial assistants to set and update hearings.
- Communicate with attorneys and legal assistants.
- Prepare Notice of Hearing and Cancellation of Hearing.
- Request fee approval from clients.
- Respond promptly, courteously, and thoroughly to a heavy volume of email correspondence.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with business associates and clients.
- Update the firm’s internal case management system and client systems accurately and consistently.
- Prepare life of file chronologies and upload to client.
- Provide exceptional customer service at every level of interaction.
- Proofread legal documents as required.
- Support attorneys in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
Requirements
- Minimum associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or at least 2 years of experience as a legal assistant.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with borrowers, clients, attorneys, internal team members, and outside parties.
- Ability to work with others in a congenial, team-oriented manner.
- Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and adapt to continual change.
- High-level reading and writing proficiency for proofreading, reading, and editing.
- High-level proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Proficiency in internet research activities.
- Familiarity with case and document management software.
- Experience with client systems such as Loansphere, Clairfire, Tempo, Vendorscape and others is preferred.
- Good understanding of the legal process surrounding foreclosure is preferred.
- Ability to proficiently operate computer, fax machine, scanner, photocopier, typewriter, and telephone is required.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision and ability to adjust focus.
