Overview

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant to support attorneys in civil litigation and insurance defense. This full-time remote position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-performing legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Format pleadings and correspondence
  • File and e-file documents in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts
  • Prepare Table of Contents and Table of Authorities for motions
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and conference calls
  • Docket case-related deadlines
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw
  • Coordinate attorney travel arrangements
  • Assist with trial preparation
  • Support attorneys with daily administrative tasks
  • Manage document organization and file maintenance

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant
  • Preferred experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury
  • Solid understanding of civil litigation, including state, federal, and appellate calendar deadlines and rules
  • Experience with court filings in California at state, federal, and appellate levels
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
  • Manage diverse workload and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly pay range: $38–$46, depending on experience
  • Overtime paid at 1.5× the regular hourly rate as needed
