Overview
This role is for a Legal Claims Analyst based in Southern California, specifically the Los Angeles area. The position is remote with periodic travel required within the region.
The Legal Claims Analyst will manage small automotive claims cases and work closely with the General Counsel of a Fortune 500 automaker. A key responsibility is representing the client in court, providing testimony on policies and procedures, and ensuring fair and compliant resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Office of the General Counsel and outside counsel to support defense strategies, including lemon law claims
- Serve as the "Person Most Knowledgeable" (PMK) on client policies and procedures, providing testimony at depositions and trials
- Manage small claims cases and represent the client in court approximately 15% of the time
- Partner with the California review team to evaluate vehicle buyback requests for legal compliance
- Train and guide team members on claims management best practices, focusing on lemon law nuances
- Assess consumer relief requests related to lemon law to ensure fair and compliant outcomes
- Provide timely and accurate solutions through inbound and outbound communications (phone, chat, email, etc.) with a positive attitude
Requirements
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and ability to support legal cases confidently
- Excellent listening and communication skills to articulate case details effectively in court
- Proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented approach to case management
- Ability to work independently in a high-stress environment
- Experience with consumer claims and California lemon law
- College degree
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Willingness and availability to travel for cases/trials approximately 15% of the time
- Commitment to a consistent work schedule
- Resident of California, located near the Los Angeles area
- High-speed internet access with Ethernet or landline connection

- Paralegal or legal assistant experience

- Starting salary range: $65,000 - $77,000 annually, based on experience and expertise with California lemon law
