Legal Contract Specialist

Overview

This is a high-priority independent contractor role supporting a high-volume pipeline of commercial contracts for a global client base including founders, high-growth companies, and institutional platforms. The position offers direct ownership of client relationships and counterparty negotiations within a fully remote, modern law firm structure.

Responsibilities

• Lead drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements such as NDAs, master services agreements, vendor arrangements, and technology transactions, ensuring rapid turnaround and strict adherence to internal playbooks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to apply legal playbooks and workflows strategically, addressing cross-border commercial considerations as needed.
• Drive AI-powered process automation across legal and operational functions by identifying inefficiencies, deploying scalable solutions, and enhancing AI fluency firm-wide.
• Identify and mitigate confidentiality and commercial risks in standard transactions, recognize non-standard terms, and escalate complex issues beyond established playbooks.
• Work closely with internal deal teams and stakeholders to ensure rapid contract turnaround and alignment on negotiation strategies.
• Manage a demanding, high-volume workflow in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, maintaining exceptional accuracy without sacrificing speed.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of experience in commercial contracts.
• Strong interest in AI, innovation, and the future of legal services.
• Background in outsourcing and commercial contracting.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating complex, high-value agreements and direct client interaction.
• LL.M. from a U.S. institution or eligibility for the U.S. bar is strongly preferred.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a lean, remote-first environment.
• Strong written and spoken English skills, as the role involves daily interaction with English-speaking clients and sophisticated counterparties.

Location and Work Hours

• 100% remote.
• Working hours aligned with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
