Overview
This role is for a qualified mid-level attorney with go-to-market and procurement experience in the SaaS industry. The position blends legal practice with legal operations, acting as a “legal engineer” supporting Commercial Agreements as part of the organization’s Commercial Acceleration effort.
Key focus areas include inbound procurement legal negotiations, other commercial transactions, and some real estate transactions. The role also involves improving contracting workflows through technology, product feedback, testing new features, and experimenting with third-party AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on standard inbound procurement agreements with vendors, partners, and suppliers.
- Handle some real estate transactions, including commercial leases, facilities agreements, MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, amendments, and related terms.
- Identify pain points in inbound procurement and commercial agreement workflows and design technology-driven improvements.
- Lead evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of in-house and third-party contract management technologies and AI-powered review tools.
- Configure CLM / Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) platforms, automate workflows, create intelligent templates, standardize clause libraries, and develop contract playbooks tailored to procurement support.
- Provide feedback to product teams by actively testing products, dogfooding new releases, and sharing insights to improve offerings.
- Serve as a strategic liaison and trusted advisor to Procurement, Real Estate/Facilities, Commercial/Sales, Legal, IT, Product, and Finance.
- Develop training programs and drive adoption of new tools and processes within procurement and legal teams.
- Define and track KPIs to measure initiative impact on efficiency, speed, risk, and user satisfaction.
- Engineer data privacy and compliance frameworks within agreement management systems.
- Apply a systematic approach to transform traditional procurement and legal workflows into scalable, technology-driven solutions.
- Pioneer Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) practices across the organization.
- Develop and implement standardized playbooks, intelligent templates, and automated clauses for procurement and real estate transactions.
- Leverage core and emerging technologies including CLM, AI/GenAI, workflow automation, and data analytics platforms, while experimenting with third-party tools.
- Champion user-centric design and change management to support successful technology and process adoption.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of related in-house legal department and technology-related contracting experience or law firm experience, including robust deal experience with standard inbound procurement agreements, commercial transactions, and real estate transactions.
- Admitted to practice and in good standing with the US Bar Association.
Preferred
- In-house experience in the high-tech industry.
- Tech-savvy and product-inclined; strong appetite for growth in an AI-infused environment with a strategic, innovative mindset.
- Excellent contract negotiating and drafting skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of data privacy and data security, particularly in the SaaS industry.
- Strong professional judgment, practicality, and client service focus.
- Proactive approach with the ability to work efficiently, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytic and communication skills; ability to act on best available information without waiting for absolute certainty.
- Familiarity with and willingness to experiment with relevant services and tools for legal transactional support and contract management, including ServiceNow, Salesforce, Google Workspace, Smartsheet, CLM solutions, AI tools, and other applications.

Wage Transparency
Pay is based on geographic location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Applicable pay ranges:
- California: $147,700.00 - $237,575.00
- Illinois, Colorado, Massachusetts and Minnesota: $143,400.00 - $202,575.00
- Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and New York (including NYC metro area): $143,400.00 - $208,675.00
- Washington DC: $147,700.00 - $208,675.00
- Ohio: $125,900.00 - $177,800.00
Bonus Eligibility
- Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals.
- Non-Sales roles are eligible for a company bonus plan, calculated as a percentage of eligible wages and dependent on company performance.

Location
Remote: Employee is not required to be in or near an office frequently and works from a designated remote work location for the majority of the time.
