Overview
The organization is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary/Assistant to join the Portland office. This is a full-time position with hybrid or fully remote options available for highly qualified candidates. The role supports attorneys handling civil litigation matters in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide litigation support to attorneys in civil litigation matters
- Manage multiple deadlines with strong attention to detail and organization
- Prepare, format, and organize documents and correspondence using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Use e-filing processes in Oregon and Washington state and federal courts
- Support civil litigation workflows requiring familiarity with applicable rules of civil procedure
- Collaborate effectively with a team and communicate clearly in written form
- Utilize docketing processes as needed (Milana is a plus)
Requirements
- 5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience, preferably in a fast-paced defense firm environment
- Familiarity with Oregon and Washington state and federal rules of civil procedure, including e-filing in both jurisdictions
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent analytical, written communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting plaintiff-side cases in King County, WA
- Experience with matters involving provisional process
- Experience with Milana docketing software
