Overview
A well-established and growing law firm is seeking California-licensed civil defense attorneys to join its expanding litigation practice. Attorneys may be hired at multiple levels and can work in-office, hybrid, or fully remote.
This role involves handling a diverse caseload of sophisticated civil litigation matters with meaningful responsibility throughout the litigation process.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple cases from inception through resolution
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Handle court appearances, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Assist with trial preparation and, where appropriate, participate in trial
- Review and analyze documents and discovery
- Develop case strategy and communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties
- Manage deadlines and work efficiently and independently
Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience; defense litigation experience preferred
- Strong research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively
- Strong client communication skills
- Self-motivated and organized; able to work independently and collaboratively
