A Sacramento-based law firm specializing in general insurance and trial practice is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in civil litigation, particularly medical malpractice defense. The firm serves clients across Northern California and Nevada and is known for its experienced trial lawyers handling complex medical litigation.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in civil defense litigation, focusing on medical malpractice cases.
- Conduct comprehensive depositions to gather and record pertinent information.
- Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Perform thorough legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Negotiate settlements aiming for favorable outcomes.
- Collaborate with the legal team to develop and implement litigation strategies.
- Stay current on laws and regulations related to civil defense litigation.
- Provide exceptional client service by maintaining communication and updating clients on case progress.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil litigation defense, preferably with medical malpractice litigation.
- Proven experience conducting depositions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of favorable settlements.
- Excellent research and analytical abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $125,000 - $200,000 per year.
