Overview
A legal organization is seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney licensed to practice in North Carolina. This is a full-time remote position based in North Carolina.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and development
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, and legal correspondence
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
- Handle discovery processes, including drafting requests and responses
- Take and defend depositions
- Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams
- Maintain organized and up-to-date case files within a case management system
- Collaborate with team members on litigation strategy and dispute resolution
Requirements
- Active Bar admission in North Carolina (required)
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- 1-3 years of litigation experience preferred; entry-level candidates will be considered
- Strong legal research skills, with proficiency in tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Excellent legal writing and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in a litigation law firm is a plus
