Litigation Attorney (Ohio-Licensed)

Overview

An organization is partnering with a law firm to recruit a Litigation Attorney for a full-time, indefinite contract role.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: at least 6 months with potential for extension
• Hours: 40/week
• Location: Remote, supporting the firm’s Cleveland, OH office
• Compensation: $75/hr

Responsibilities

• Handle general civil litigation lifecycle for insurance defense matters, including:
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Managing written discovery responses and requests
  • Drafting dispositive motions and other motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions in limine
  • Assisting with general case file review, case strategy, and trial preparation

Requirements

• 3+ years of litigation experience, with experience in insurance defense litigation preferred
• Experience defending medical malpractice claims
• Familiarity with billing narratives for insurance defense issues and understanding how billing works when representing insurance carriers (drafting acceptable time narratives will be critical)

Preferred Qualifications

• No trial experience is required; however, there could be an opportunity for trial if the attorney has trial experience or is interested in pursuing trial work.

Licensure

• License to practice law in Ohio, active and in good standing, is required
