Overview
The organization is seeking exceptional default litigators to handle contested matters in each jurisdiction. This role involves independently managing a wide array of litigated matters, including contested motions, appeals, and evidentiary hearings.
Responsibilities
- Draft motions, briefs, and memorandums of law
- Conduct legal research
- Appear in court for a wide range of matters, including high-level contested motions and evidentiary hearings
- Respond to discovery-related requests and motion practice
- Manage all aspects of assigned contested cases, including devising and executing legal strategies
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience independently handling contested motion practice
- Admission to practice law in the state of NY; admission in NJ/PA/CT is a plus
- Superior writing, research, and oral advocacy abilities
- Ability to identify and resolve legal issues quickly and effectively
- Ability and eagerness to manage a heavy workload and produce a significant amount of legal work
