Overview
The organization is seeking a midlevel litigation attorney to join a growing litigation practice. This role offers meaningful autonomy, direct client-facing responsibility from Day One, and guaranteed hours.
Attorneys in this position will work alongside two highly respected partners on complex matters within a collaborative national litigation team.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with two partners on complex litigation matters.
- Manage significant portions of cases independently, including:
- Drafting dispositive motions
- Managing discovery
- Taking and defending depositions
- Preparing witnesses
- Supporting trial, arbitration, and mediation proceedings
- Handle multi-jurisdictional litigation and cross-border matters beyond breach of contract.
- Produce timely, high-quality work product with strong attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, providing timely updates and practical recommendations.
- Proactively identify issues and solutions and exercise sound judgment without requiring close supervision.
- Maintain organization and responsiveness while managing multiple active matters simultaneously.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of experience handling complex commercial litigation matters.
- Trial experience.
- In good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Demonstrated experience litigating in federal courts.
- Comfort managing multi-jurisdictional litigation and cross-border matters.
- Ability to independently manage significant portions of a case (including drafting dispositive motions, managing discovery, taking/defending depositions, preparing witnesses, and supporting trial, arbitration, and mediation).
- Ability to produce thoughtful, concise, and high-quality work product with strong attention to detail.
- Strong client and colleague communication skills, including timely updates and practical recommendations.
- High responsiveness and strong organizational skills for managing multiple matters.
- Ability to collaborate effectively on sophisticated business disputes across a wide range of industries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in business, finance, or other commercially focused disciplines.
- Located in the Central or Eastern Standard time zone.
