Overview

This contract role is for a part-time M&A Attorney to contribute expertise in legal AI development. The position involves working remotely to help shape how advanced AI models are trained, evaluated, and applied in legal contract review and negotiation, particularly within the technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises.
  • Review and assess AI-generated responses to contract scenarios, providing expert feedback to enhance model accuracy and legal judgment.
  • Develop objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria to rigorously assess AI performance on contract-related tasks.
  • Collaborate with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines, and best practices for AI-driven contract review tools.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the M&A department of a corporate law firm.
  • Familiarity with standard M&A agreements, including Asset Purchase Agreements (APAs) and Stock Purchase Agreements (SPAs).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate legal expertise into actionable feedback for AI systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to innovation at the intersection of law and technology.
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with AI, legal technology, or training initiatives.
  • Experience working with private equity firms.
