Overview

A regional insurance defense law firm with offices in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney. The firm has nearly four decades of experience litigating cases and is looking for a skilled trial attorney to join their team in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee a comprehensive caseload of medical malpractice claims from initial assessment through final resolution.
  • Consult with medical experts to assess the standard of care and determine if a breach has occurred.
  • Identify, research, and analyze complex legal issues and conflicting legal opinions.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, insurance company contacts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression and address concerns.
  • Prioritize multiple assignments and competing deadlines efficiently.
  • Take and defend depositions, represent clients in arbitration proceedings, and argue motions to secure favorable rulings.
  • Attend both in-person and virtual court appearances.
  • Collaborate with fellow attorneys, staff members, and partners on legal projects to foster professional development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in medical malpractice defense.
  • Experience handling depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and other complex legal assignments.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a large caseload and handle day-to-day case tasks effectively.
  • Strong desire for professional growth and learning.
  • Experience with billing for legal time.
