Overview

This role is for a Medical Malpractice Attorney position in the Chicago office of a national law firm with offices in all 50 states. Candidates must have a minimum of 2–4 years of experience. Flexible work options are available, including remote and hybrid opportunities.

The firm provides full-service legal services, including professional negligence, commercial litigation, general liability, insurance defense, and employment matters.

Candidates must be licensed to practice in Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Draft correspondence, pleadings, opinion letters, and other legal documents
  • Review and analyze documents for relevance and privilege
  • Prepare for, attend, and summarize depositions
  • Coordinate with witnesses
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other counsel
  • Maintain current knowledge of Local Rules, Rules of Civil Procedure, FRCP, and other applicable codes and regulations
  • Coordinate and communicate with parties outside the firm, including clients, courts, opposing and co-counsel, vendors, attorneys, secretaries, paralegals, case assistants, managers, and other staff

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills and command of the English language
  • Illinois licensure to practice

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $275,000.00 /Yr.

The firm also states the following national base salary ranges (actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, practice area, business generation, work arrangement, and geographic market):

  • Associates (approximately 1–6+ years): $100,000–$165,000
  • Senior Counsel/Of Counsel (approximately 5 years or more): $140,000–$215,000
  • Partners (approximately 7 years or more): $190,000–$275,000+

Location

Chicago office (with possible remote or hybrid work options).
