Medical Records Clerk Personal Injury (Remote) | LATAM

Overview

Full-time contractor role (Remote)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, aligned with US Pacific Time (PST)

Compensation: $1,300 to $1,400 per month, depending on experience

This position supports an established plaintiff personal injury firm in Los Angeles that focuses on premises liability cases (slip-and-fall and trip-and-fall). The work centers on ensuring each file has complete medical documentation.

You will serve as the records specialist for a group of case managers, responsible for requesting and tracking medical records and bills until every case file is complete.

Responsibilities

• Request medical records, medical bills, and related documents from hospitals, clinics, imaging centers, and other providers.
• Follow up consistently on outstanding requests until records are received.
• Upload, label, and organize documents in the firm’s case management software.
• Maintain a tracking log of pending requests and follow-ups so case managers can see what is missing.
• Flag documentation gaps on each case to the assigned case manager.
• Send and track HIPAA authorizations and other records release forms.
• Process incoming faxes and electronic records, then route them to the correct file.
• Protect client confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• Experience at a US personal injury law firm requesting medical records and medical bills.
• Strong written and spoken English for calls and email communications with medical providers.
• Organized and persistent approach, with the ability to manage high-volume requests and follow-ups across many cases independently.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and a legal case management platform.
• Full-time availability during US Pacific business hours, with reliable internet and a dedicated workspace.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting several case managers at once.
• Premises liability case experience.
• Experience working through remote desktop access to a firm’s systems.
