Overview
A group of innovative businesses focused on becoming the security layer of the future is seeking a Legal & Compliance Counsel or Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel. The organization operates across Hong Kong, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, and beyond, providing cybersecurity and insurance protection for digital megatrends such as AI, Web3, and future lifestyles.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice on a variety of legal, compliance, and governance matters
- Drive legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, intellectual property, and data privacy strategy
- Liaise with regulators, including the Hong Kong Insurance Authority
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal, regulatory, and compliance risks
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including insurance policies and SaaS agreements
- Support fundraising activities and group structuring
- Shape and support the governance framework, including matters related to directors and investors
- Work on investments and acquisitions for the group
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer in a common law or Asian jurisdiction
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (flexible for exceptional candidates)
- Fluent in English and Chinese, with the ability to draft legal documents in both languages
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance sector
- Experience with GenAI tools and agents
- Legal experience in technology and SaaS sectors
