Overview
A municipal law firm with multiple offices across California is seeking a Municipal Attorney with over 3 years of experience to join their statewide municipal advisory practice. The role offers remote work opportunities with office locations in Sacramento, Sonoma, and Grass Valley.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on municipal law and public law matters
- Advise on compliance with the Brown Act, California Public Records Act, CEQA, and Cortese Knox Hertzberg Act
- Handle issues related to land use, housing, and post-redevelopment
- Support election-related legal matters
- Counsel on utility services and public works contracting
- Address labor and employment legal concerns
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in municipal law or related public law fields
- Knowledge of California municipal regulations and statutes including Brown Act, Public Records Act, CEQA, and Cortese Knox Hertzberg Act
- Experience with land use, housing, elections, utility services, public works, and labor/employment law
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary ranging from $140,000 to $220,000, with total compensation up to $240,000
