Overview
A leading organization in the title insurance and real estate services industry is seeking a National Commercial Underwriting Counsel to join their Global Operations team. This role focuses on delivering best-in-industry commercial title production services through collaboration, innovation, and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Execute strategic initiatives to provide top-tier commercial title production services using advanced technology and a skilled team.
- Collaborate with underwriters, examiners, and business stakeholders nationwide to address commercial title production challenges and develop innovative solutions balancing risk and business opportunities.
- Propose new ideas to enhance the commercial production process.
- Support the development and growth of underwriting talent, fostering skill-building and attracting high-caliber professionals.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of national commercial title underwriting experience, with multi-region experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required; law degree preferred.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to generate empathy and rapport across diverse groups.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in commercial underwriting.
- Excellent communication skills, including active listening and persuasive communication, with the ability to consider diverse viewpoints.
- Expert-level knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, title insurance, and settlement services.
- Comfortable evaluating commercial real estate title production and underwriting issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Commitment to continuous learning and upskilling in areas intersecting title insurance, commercial real estate, and technology.
- Intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and willingness to challenge the status quo.
- Ability and eagerness to engage with emerging technologies, including AI, to address problems.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $148,600.00 - $198,200.00 annually.
- Pay is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.
