Overview
This role involves providing underwriting support and expertise related to the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies. The position requires utilizing underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance and offer guidance in real estate settlement services.
Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers regarding real estate title insurance commitments and policies.
- Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance issuance.
- Guide company personnel in performing real estate settlement services.
- Issue underwriting standards and guidelines following established company processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Law degree required.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of employment.
- 5-7 years of title underwriting experience.
- Familiarity with real estate law.
- Strong understanding of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of real estate title and settlement processes.
- General knowledge of federal and state regulations related to real estate title insurance and settlement services.
- General understanding of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policy issuance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and make decisive decisions.
- Detail-oriented with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to think abstractly and develop creative solutions.
- Experience with Ohio title underwriting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $97,700.00 - $130,300.00 annually.
- Compensation is based on factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements, and geographic location.

Location
- Position requires admission to practice law in the state of employment (Ohio experience preferred).
