Overview
A legal team representing oil and gas clients throughout Texas and beyond is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Title Attorney. This is a remote position offering flexible billable hours, multiple bonus opportunities, and competitive compensation.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support on a broad range of oil and gas matters, including exploration, production, transportation, and sales.
- Draft title opinions identifying defects, liens, or other issues affecting property ownership or use.
- Analyze leases, contracts, deeds, and other relevant documents.
- Advise on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings such as litigation and arbitration.
- Collaborate with other departments to identify legal risks and develop risk management strategies.
- Stay current with developments in oil and gas law and industry trends.
- Provide training to other departments on relevant legal issues.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience drafting title opinions for lands in Texas.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $150,000 - $210,000 per year.
