Outside Counsel AI Solution Manager

Overview

This role involves strategic leadership and oversight of AI-enabled delivery for clients in outside counsel management. The Outside Counsel AI Solution Manager will manage client relationships and drive adoption of transparent, efficient, and AI-enabled billing strategies. As a subject matter expert, the manager will ensure the delivery team provides oversight and assurance monitoring of AI processes and outcomes, maintaining consistency and effective AI delivery, with human intervention for exceptions and escalations when necessary.

This is a remote position open to applicants throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and support to clients, enhancing ongoing relationships and developing partnership approaches aligned with organizational priorities.
• Champion client value realization through AI-enabled delivery by identifying opportunities for optimization and expanded services.
• Drive measurable client outcomes such as efficiency, cost reduction, and predictability to ensure benefits from AI adoption.
• Serve as the single point of contact for quality, performance, and compliance reviews with Outside Counsel, supporting client lead attorneys as needed.
• Communicate complex technical and AI-related information, as well as high-level strategic expectations, to clients and Outside Counsel; act as an escalation point for senior expertise and oversight.
• Manage delivery SLAs/KPIs, reporting, and predictive analysis from the client perspective; monitor trends, exceptions, risks, and proactively focus attention; present quarterly business reviews.
• Lead regular communication with legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure collaboration and alignment across stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with product and AI teams on feedback, improvements, and roadmap alignment, representing the client voice internally.
• Provide oversight, management support, and guidance to the delivery team to maintain standards aligned with client expectations and support Outside Counsel compliance and understanding of AI adoption.
• Resolve escalations, risks, and issues transparently, providing feedback to internal teams to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Subject matter expertise in legal operations, outside counsel management, spend efficiency, and invoice review.
• Knowledge and experience with e-billing tools and financial systems.
• Experience using AI tools, technologies, AI agents, and AI prompts.
• Ability to explain complex technical and AI-related information clearly and accessibly to clients and colleagues.
• Understanding of data compliance laws such as GDPR and the EU AI Act.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in networking, presenting to large groups, and cross-selling to clients.
• Management or business qualification or relevant experience required.
• Degree in business, legal, or finance preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated salary range: $90,000 to $120,000, reflecting factors such as education, experience, training, certification, and geography.
• Select roles may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.
