Overview
An established law firm is seeking an Outside Counsel Guidelines Attorney to join the Conflicts and New Matter Intake team. This fully remote position supports personnel across the firm and US region by reviewing and analyzing client-drafted terms, outside counsel guidelines, onboarding questionnaires, and related projects.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze client terms and outside counsel guidelines to identify and advise on risks and contractual issues.
- Collaborate with business and legal teams firmwide on negotiation of client terms.
- Provide advice on responses to RFPs and pitches.
- Prepare responses to client audits and assessments with assistance from other departments.
- Support the Office of the General Counsel on projects related to client terms and engagement activities.
- Communicate proactively with firm leadership regarding complex client engagement issues.
- Maintain accurate and current records of all terms negotiations to ensure database integrity and compliance.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet position requirements.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law with at least 2+ years of experience reviewing client terms in a large law firm environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with personnel at all levels.
- Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
- Methodical work approach with attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and quality.
- Skilled in negotiation and influencing colleagues to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ability to maintain comprehensive knowledge of the firm’s client term acceptance policies.
- Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Adaptable to changing demands, able to prioritize tasks and ensure follow-through.
- Sound judgment to resolve issues consistent with standards, policies, and regulations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $150,000 - $180,000, based on experience and local market, in accordance with state laws.
