PA/NJ Workers Compensation Paralegal (Remote Engagement)

Overview

This role involves working as a Workers Compensation Paralegal supporting attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. The position is fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation claims
• Prepare pleadings and support case development
• Prepare and manage discovery
• Provide excellent written and oral advocacy in support of case strategy
• Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients
• Maintain detailed, organized case work and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines

Requirements

• 5+ years of workers’ compensation defense experience
• Experience preparing pleadings and discovery
• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
• Superior written and oral advocacy skills
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with attorneys, staff and clients
• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional law firm setting
• Outstanding references

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay: The annualized pay for this contract position ranges from $70,000 - $90,000 when calculated on a full-time basis.
• Pay basis: Pay for contract roles is based on multiple factors including work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference. (Each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect competitiveness for the position.)
• Benefits: Contract professionals are usually W2 employees and are eligible for full benefits when working in roles for 20 hours per week.
• Benefits-eligible contract professionals receive complimentary Group Life, LTD, and AD&D.
• A qualified 401k plan is also available.
• Benefits-eligible attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
