Overview
This role involves joining a Litigation Services team as a Paralegal Specialist, supporting insurance defense litigation matters including bodily injury and third-party liability claims. The position is fully remote and requires close collaboration with attorneys to manage litigation files from inception through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files through all phases including trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation.
- Draft, review, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents for attorney approval.
- Prepare and manage written discovery requests and responses; coordinate document production.
- Review, organize, summarize, and maintain medical records, billing records, and other case documentation.
- Assist attorneys in evaluating injury-related claims through detailed medical record analysis.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, medical providers, expert witnesses, vendors, and opposing counsel.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), expert witness activities, and other litigation events.
- Prepare exhibits, case summaries, witness files, and materials for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Handle electronic filing and service of legal documents in compliance with court rules.
- Monitor case deadlines, court requirements, and litigation calendars to ensure timely case management.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in insurance defense, bodily injury, or civil litigation.
- Experience supporting litigation involving bodily injury and/or third-party liability claims preferred.
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures including pleadings, discovery, motions, court filings, and trial preparation.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania litigation practices and electronic court filing systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience drafting discovery responses, discovery requests, and motion documents.
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records for injury claims evaluation.
- Proven ability to coordinate with clients, vendors, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Must meet all applicable paralegal certification, registration, or licensure requirements as defined by Pennsylvania state.
