Paralegal

Overview

The Legal Delivery Centre (LDC) provides a flexible, scalable paralegal resource across the organization’s UK, Ireland and Middle East offices and across a wide range of legal services. This permanent role is remote.

This position is primarily dedicated to the derivatives team within the Banking group and offers high-quality paralegal experience, with exposure across the firm and to some major clients.

Responsibilities

As part of the LDC team, you will provide paralegal support to the derivatives team, including:

• Negotiating and drafting master agreements and ancillary documents for securities lending, repo and derivatives (GMRA, GMSLA and ISDA)
• Conducting legal due diligence
• Liaising with clients and counterparties in a timely, courteous and professional manner
• Managing client tracking tables using Microsoft Word and Excel
• Drafting emails and correspondence on behalf of fee earners
• Undertaking legal research
• Providing administrative support to fee earners
• Filing and maintaining correspondence and documentation

Requirements

• Minimum of three A levels at grade A, or equivalent
• A qualification in law, minimum 2.1 (Degree, Graduate Diploma in Law)
• LPC or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work well under pressure and to very tight deadlines (essential)
• Ability to organise, prioritise and multi-task
• Ability to work accurately with excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrate drive and initiative
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence to deal effectively with Partners and professionals across the firm
• Ability and willingness to be flexible
• Sociable and a good team player

Location

• Remote
• No expectation or requirement to attend office locations
• Optional opportunities (subject to location): attend the hub in Milton Keynes and offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh
• Subject to location: opportunity to join the derivatives team in the London office from time to time
