Overview
This remote role is part of the litigation services team as a Paralegal Specialist. Based in Texas, the position supports high-impact insurance defense cases involving bodily injury claims and works closely with experienced attorneys throughout the litigation lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial preparation
- Draft and file pleadings, respond to discovery, and support motion practice
- Order and track medical records; coordinate expert review and disclosures
- Prepare arbitration and trial materials, including jury instructions when applicable
- Handle e-filing across Texas courts
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely service and compliance
- Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals to maintain organized, high-quality case files
- Participate in occasional in-person connection events within Texas
Requirements
- Must meet all applicable paralegal certification, registration, or licensure requirements as defined by the state of Texas
- 5+ years of experience as a paralegal with a focus on insurance defense or civil litigation
- Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced legal environment
- Familiarity with legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and court filings
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence
- Remote role location requirement: candidates must be based near one of our office locations in Dallas, Austin, Houston, McAllen, or San Antonio, TX
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation: 28.03 - 42.99 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
- Background investigation required
