Overview

A personal injury legal team is seeking a Pre-Suit Paralegal to support case development before litigation begins. This role involves managing insurance claims, client communications, medical record requests, and coordinating demand letters with attorneys. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and experienced in personal injury pre-suit processes.

Responsibilities

  • Open and set up new insurance claims upon client intake
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, providing updates and gathering information
  • Communicate with insurance companies and adjusters to facilitate pre-suit procedures
  • Request, track, and organize medical records, bills, and lien documentation from providers
  • Follow up on outstanding records to ensure timely receipt
  • Coordinate with attorneys on preparation and submission of demand letters
  • Review and organize case file documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Monitor case progress proactively, addressing delays before escalation
  • Maintain detailed case notes within the case management system
  • Ensure deadlines and follow-up tasks are met across a high-volume caseload

Qualifications

  • Prior paralegal or case management experience in personal injury law, preferably on the Plaintiff's side
  • Familiarity with pre-suit processes including insurance claims, medical record requests, and demand letters
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients during stressful times
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence with insurance carriers and medical providers
  • Proficiency in case management and document management software
  • Sharp attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000, commensurate with experience
  • Opportunity to earn quarterly performance bonuses
  • End-of-year bonus based on key performance indicators and overall performance
