Overview
This Associate Attorney role involves owning a personal injury caseload from the first phone call through final resolution. The position is designed for an attorney who wants faster responsibility than many traditional firm structures and is ready to be evaluated on results.
Responsibilities
- Actively manage a caseload of 80–100 personal injury claims from start to finish, averaging 7–9 resolutions per month.
- Develop legal strategies and oversee the implementation of effective tactics to maximize case value.
- Provide excellent client service through regular communication that manages expectations, resolves concerns, and ensures clients understand the case process.
- Conduct aggressive, informed negotiations with the goal of increasing case values.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the practice of law.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and documentation in accordance with firm policies and industry standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth case progression.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a personal injury attorney handling cases.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to high performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school (required).
- Demonstrated ability to independently resolve a high-volume caseload against clear monthly negotiation and resolution targets.
- Demonstrated grit and metric accountability, managing a demanding caseload without sacrificing case quality or client care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota or Iowa, or able to obtain licensure via Uniform Bar Exam (UBE) score transfer within a reasonable timeframe.
