Overview
A leading organization in the Finance & Insurance sector is seeking a Product Counsel specializing in Data Products. This role focuses on the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery within a regulated financial services environment. The position involves partnering with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, identify trends, and translate analysis into actionable insights.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $130,000 – $180,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to global product teams on AI adoption and related compliance issues
- Collaborate closely with engineering and privacy teams to offer practical legal advice throughout product development
- Draft and update foundational terms and documents for the company’s services
- Monitor consumer financial data regulations to anticipate impacts on products
- Serve as a trusted business partner by contributing key legal insights to product strategy
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a lawyer, preferably with technology firms or cloud-based service providers
- Strong understanding of legal considerations in technology product development
- Ability to navigate complex operational business models efficiently
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent judgment with a proactive approach to ambiguity and decision-making
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across functions
- Project management skills to handle shifting priorities effectively
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Expertise in technology law, data protection, and privacy laws
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws and cloud-based API regulations
- Familiarity with regulatory updates related to financial data access
- Legal drafting and review experience specific to technology products
- Understanding of API technology and integrations
- Awareness of privacy and data security technologies such as encryption and access controls
- Insight into technological developments in AI and their legal implications
