Overview
This role provides legal counsel on privacy, product development, and regulatory compliance to help the organization deliver innovative solutions while maintaining trust and meeting global legal obligations. You will work as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and business teams to build privacy-forward, legally compliant products and services.
Responsibilities
- Advise on product design and implementation to ensure compliance with global privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and emerging regulations.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to embed privacy-by-design and privacy-by-default into product development lifecycles.
- Review and negotiate privacy-related provisions in commercial agreements, including data processing and cross-border transfer clauses.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs), data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), and risk analyses for new features and initiatives.
- Monitor and interpret changes in privacy, AI, and digital regulation to support proactive compliance.
- Develop and maintain internal policies, guidance documents, and playbooks related to privacy and product compliance.
- Collaborate with Security, Compliance, and IT teams on incident response, data governance, and user rights management.
- Provide privacy and product counseling across business units, including marketing, analytics, cookies, and mobile technologies.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of legal experience, with a focus on product counseling and privacy law.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution; active bar membership in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of global data privacy laws and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience advising product and engineering teams within a technology company.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, or similar certifications.

- Compensation Range: $138,375 - $230,500
