Overview
This role involves providing legal counsel on the design, development, and execution of software products and services within a financial infrastructure platform used by millions of businesses globally. The position focuses on navigating complex legal, regulatory, and financial partnership environments related to technology and financial services.
Responsibilities
- Advise product and engineering teams on legal issues related to software solutions, including revenue management, user profiles, and business incorporation services.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security to provide pragmatic legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial scoping to launch.
- Draft, review, and update foundational internal and external terms and documents for products and services.
- Monitor and analyze laws, regulations, and industry trends concerning consumer financial data access to proactively advise on potential product impacts.
- Act as a proactive business partner and trusted advisor, offering legal and strategic input to influence product roadmap and business strategy.
Minimum Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team, preferably working with technology companies on legal and regulatory aspects of product development, especially related to cloud-based API service providers.
- Strong proficiency and enthusiasm for technology, with the ability to quickly understand complex operational and business models and multiple product use cases.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership mentality with excellent judgment and decision-making skills under ambiguity and limited information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally with urgency while maintaining collaboration.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Background in technology law with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strategic thinker who enables business partners to make decisions grounded in practical application of law, technology, and business goals.
