Overview
A financial infrastructure platform serving millions of businesses worldwide is seeking a Product Lawyer to join their Product Legal team. This team manages the legal and regulatory aspects of product design, development, and execution, working on complex technical, commercial, and regulatory challenges. The role involves advising product, engineering, and partnerships teams on a variety of matters intersecting financial services, business processes, and technology.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel to product and engineering teams on issues related to software solutions including revenue management, user profiles, and business incorporation services.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security to deliver practical legal advice throughout the product development lifecycle, from initial scoping to launch.
- Draft, review, and update foundational internal and external documents and terms for products and services.
- Stay informed on laws and regulations concerning consumer financial data access, analyzing regulatory updates and industry trends to proactively advise on potential product impacts.
- Act as a proactive business partner and trusted advisor, offering legal and strategic input to influence product roadmap and business strategy.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a qualified lawyer, either at a top law firm or in-house legal team, working with technology companies, preferably involving cloud-based API service providers.
- Strong proficiency and enthusiasm for technology, with the ability to quickly understand complex operational and business models and diverse product use cases.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership mentality with excellent judgment and decision-making skills under ambiguity and limited information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally with urgency while maintaining collaboration.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills to handle shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Background in technology law with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strategic thinker who can help business partners make decisions grounded in practical legal, technological, and business considerations.

Compensation & Benefits
- Annual US base salary range: $178,200 - $267,200. This range may cover multiple career levels and will be refined during the interview process based on experience, qualifications, and location.
- Additional benefits may include equity, company bonuses or sales commissions/bonuses, 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision benefits, and wellness stipends.
Location
- This role is remote, defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from an office location.
- Occasional office visits for meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events may be expected.
- The employer does not cover relocation costs for remote positions.
