Overview
An organization is seeking an experienced Data Privacy Attorney with a strong background in corporate contracts and product counseling for a part-time, approximately five-month remote engagement. This role involves supporting product, legal, and business teams on a variety of data privacy matters, including product-related privacy counseling, privacy implications of commercial contracts, data initiatives, HIPAA-related considerations, and broader data privacy compliance issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic privacy guidance to legal, product, and business stakeholders
- Counsel on privacy risks and practical solutions related to product development and commercial contracts
- Support the development or launch of technology platforms with privacy considerations
- Issue-spot and ask relevant questions to provide business-minded legal advice
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of data privacy experience
- Experience with privacy considerations in commercial contracts
- Ability to counsel legal, product, and business teams on privacy risks and solutions
- Licensed attorney in good standing or eligible for in-house exemption
- Impeccable time management, attention to detail, professional judgment, and communication skills
- Outstanding professional references

- Experience supporting the development or launch of technology platforms
Position Details
- Role type: In-House Counsel
- Schedule: Full-time, 30-40 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay range: $140,000 to $160,000 (pro-rated for contract engagement)
- Pay is based on factors including experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference
