Overview
A specialized part-time consulting opportunity is available for professionals experienced in intellectual property, trademark, and copyright law. The role involves reviewing legal documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, rights analysis materials, clearance summaries, risk assessments, and presentation-ready legal artifacts to ensure accuracy, rigor, clarity, and domain quality.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks related to intellectual property, trademark law, copyright law, rights clearance, licensing, infringement risk, and brand protection.
- Review legal materials for accuracy, completeness, rigor, clarity, and practical relevance.
- Assess whether legal conclusions are supported by appropriate reasoning, issue spotting, and domain-specific analysis.
- Identify inaccurate legal assumptions, incomplete analysis, weak conclusions, unclear risk framing, or poor linkage between facts and recommendations.
- Review trademark clearance, likelihood of confusion, registrability, infringement analysis, opposition risk, brand usage, and portfolio-related materials.
- Evaluate copyright-related materials involving ownership, licensing, fair use, derivative works, rights clearance, DMCA issues, and infringement analysis.
- Assess legal memos, research summaries, risk matrices, comparison tables, and presentation materials for substantive accuracy and professional quality.
- Provide clear written feedback to improve IP legal reasoning and artifact quality.
- Review spreadsheets for structure, logic, formatting, usability, and consistency.
- Assess slide decks for organization, visual clarity, executive readability, and presentation quality.
- Identify factual, aesthetic, formatting, and presentation errors across Microsoft Office and Google Workspace files.
- Apply consistent review standards across documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in IP law, trademark law, copyright law, brand protection, licensing, legal research, rights clearance, or related legal work.
- Native or professional fluency in English.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, including Google Slides, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Sheets, Word, and Google Docs.
- Strong attention to detail in evaluating documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide structured feedback.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment.
Educational Background
- J.D., LL.B., LL.M., Master's degree, or equivalent advanced legal education may be relevant.
- Academic backgrounds in law, intellectual property, business, media, technology, entertainment, communications, or related fields may be valuable.
- Professional training in trademark, copyright, licensing, brand protection, or IP portfolio work may also be relevant depending on project scope.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant field.
- Experience reviewing trademark clearance materials, copyright assessments, licensing summaries, IP memos, rights matrices, brand protection materials, or legal presentation decks.
- Familiarity with USPTO trademark processes, TTAB matters, copyright registration, IP licensing, brand enforcement, online infringement, or content rights review.
- Experience reviewing presentation decks for clarity, polish, and business-facing communication quality.
- Strong ability to evaluate both legal substance and visual/presentation quality.
Compensation & Contract Details
- Independent contractor role.

- Project commitment varies based on availability and scope.
- Competitive hourly rates between $70–$110 depending on expertise and project scope.
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise.
