Overview
This fully remote position is open to attorneys residing in GA, KY, NC, OH, TN, TX, and WV. The organization has over 25 years of experience advocating for individuals with disabilities and injuries, focusing exclusively on Social Security Disability representation. The role is suited for attorneys who are mission-driven and committed to strategic advocacy, thorough preparation, and excellent client service.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients confidently at disability hearings conducted in person, by phone, or video.
- Conduct detailed pre-hearing meetings to prepare clients and build their confidence.
- Develop strong case strategies by reviewing medical records, vocational information, and case histories.
- Draft persuasive pre-hearing briefs and written statements to clarify complex evidence.
- Identify and address missing evidence by collaborating with the team to strengthen cases.
- Evaluate cases involving multiple benefit programs and navigate complex benefit issues.
- Communicate legal concepts clearly and accessibly to empower clients.
- Maintain organized case preparation systems and track key deadlines proactively.
- Uphold professionalism and deliver exceptional client service.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support clients and the organization's mission.
