Overview
A mission-driven law firm dedicated to accelerating the transition away from fossil fuels is seeking a highly qualified mid to senior-level Real Estate associate. This role requires excellent law firm experience and strong academic credentials. The attorney will independently lead and support all aspects of real estate transactions, including due diligence, drafting legal documents, reviewing title and survey, researching relevant legal issues, and managing the closing process.
This position is fully remote, allowing work from any location where the candidate is licensed to practice law.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support real estate transactions in the renewable energy sector.
- Conduct due diligence, including reviewing title and survey for potential projects.
- Draft and review leases, easements, purchase agreements, and other ancillary documents.
- Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and other professionals on real estate matters.
- Coordinate and lead real estate due diligence reviews and transactional documentation.
- Adhere to firm policies, practices, and priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- 6-9 years of experience in real estate practice at a recognized national or regional law firm.
- Demonstrated interest in and commitment to serving the clean energy industry.
- Hands-on experience leading real estate transactions, including due diligence, title and survey review, drafting site control documents, and supporting deal teams on real estate aspects of financing and M&A transactions.
- Strong skills in deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation, and analysis.
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote work environment.
- Admission to and good standing with the Bar in the applicant’s state of residence.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to the clean energy transition.

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary starting at $235,000+, determined based on experience, expertise, business needs, and market factors.
- 1,200 annual billable hour requirement with an hourly bonus for exceeding this target.
