Overview
A digital health scale-up is seeking a Senior Attorney to join their legal team during a period of rapid growth and expansion. The organization has launched multiple platforms and products, raised over $100 million in venture capital funding, reached profitability, and is experiencing over 100% year-over-year growth.
This remote role requires quarterly travel to the Atlanta office and reports directly to the General Counsel. The Senior Attorney will act as a key legal partner across the business, focusing on commercial and strategic initiatives, supporting deals, partnerships, and regulatory considerations as the company expands into new markets and payor channels.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including provider contracts, partnership agreements, and vendor arrangements
- Provide legal guidance on strategic business initiatives such as market expansion and new payor channel development
- Conduct regulatory review and analysis to support commercial decision-making across multiple jurisdictions
- Support compliance initiatives and help maintain the company’s regulatory posture as operations scale
- Manage the day-to-day flow of legal work, triaging priorities to ensure efficient and responsive legal function operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, operations, and product teams to provide pragmatic, business-forward legal advice
- Contribute to the development of legal playbooks, templates, and processes to enable rapid business movement without compromising quality
- Stay current on relevant legal and regulatory developments in healthcare and technology, advising the business on implications

- Demonstrate ability to enable business growth by facilitating deals and initiatives rather than defaulting to caution
- Build a reputation for high throughput on commercial work, delivering contracts and legal requests with speed and precision
- Become the go-to person for managing day-to-day legal priorities and workflow
- Prove yourself as a credible second-in-command to the General Counsel, capable of independently representing the legal function and handling escalations
Requirements
- Substantive law firm experience in commercial contracting, particularly technology transactions, SaaS, licensing, and intellectual property agreements, preferably in a highly regulated industry such as healthcare
- Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and close commercial agreements efficiently, treating legal as a value-creation lever
- Experience advising on market expansion, vendor and partner arrangements, or multi-jurisdictional deals
- Trusted for early involvement in commercial conversations due to sound judgment
- Comfortable using AI and technology tools to manage contracts and legal workflows, with clear understanding of when human judgment is essential
- Ability to translate legal risk into clear business language without oversimplification
- High emotional intelligence and adaptable communication style to build trust across diverse stakeholders
- Bias toward solutions and getting deals done, with sound judgment on critical legal boundaries
- Experience building repeatable legal processes such as playbooks, templates, and escalation frameworks
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity, managing volume without sacrificing quality, and expanding role based on demonstrated capability
- Background in healthcare law and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), Stark Law, Management Services Organization (MSO) structures, or data privacy and security is a strong plus
