Overview
A Senior Attorney role is available to join the Legal team, focusing on leading complex contract negotiations, advising on regulatory compliance, and managing dispute and litigation matters. This position works closely with cross-functional teams including Privacy, Sales, Finance, and Operations to support business goals while minimizing legal and regulatory risks.
Responsibilities
- Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of diverse client, vendor, and partner agreements, especially in adtech/martech and data-driven services.
- Develop and implement contract negotiation strategies aligned with business objectives, identifying and mitigating legal and commercial risks.
- Provide legal advice on regulatory and privacy compliance, including data privacy and protection laws such as HIPAA, FCRA, GLB, CCPA, and emerging global regulations.
- Ensure contracts comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards, particularly regarding data privacy and security.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across departments to align contract terms, support strategic initiatives, and facilitate efficient deal execution.
- Build, maintain, and improve legal resources, templates, and processes to enhance scalability and efficiency within the Legal team.
- Mentor junior attorneys and legal professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the business model, products, and industry trends, especially in data, technology, and privacy.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney.
- Active U.S. law license in good standing.
- Proven experience negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle ambiguity.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to understand and explain business and technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as in-house counsel supporting commercial transactions, particularly in adtech, martech, or data-driven industries.
- Experience with government contracts or public sector engagements.
- Certified Privacy Professional credentials (e.g., IAPP certification).
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive business outcomes.
